American Family Dream Bank
DreamBank is a one-of-a-kind dream exploration
space on the square in Downtown Madison. The
DreamBank experience includes interactive
technology, thought-provoking exhibits, and
inspiring events, all of which are free and open to
the general public. Come by for Family Saturdays
each week to see what activities will educate &
inspire your kids!

Home Depot Kids Workshops
Drop-in 9am to Noon the 1st Saturday every month
for a FREE "how-to" clinic for kids (recommended
ages 5 to 12).Real woodworking projects are often
themed around seasons & holidays. These year
round workshops are intended to encourage one-
on-one time with adults and children, teach tool
safety, and give children the sense of
accomplishment. They'll be proud of their kid-sized
"official" orange apron and achievement pin they
take home with their project.

3rd Saturdays - for those that missed earlier in the

Kids in the Rotunda
Enjoy free performances in a relaxed, kid-friendly
environment every Saturday from the end of
September through April. Shows offered at 9:30,
11am, and 1pm (sign-language interpreted at 1pm).
The series takes place on the Rotunda Stage in the
Overture Center on State Street in downtown
Madison. Parking ramp with elevators located just a
block away.

Rocky Rococo's for Family Movies
Rocky's Party Pizzeria's East & West show movies on
their big screen throughout the week,
daytimes/eve's/wknds (see location for times.)
Movies are rated 'G' or 'PG', it's a fun way to get out
of the house and enjoy lunch or dinner with a kid-
friendly movie in a family-friendly atmosphere.

Saturday Science at Discovery
A monthly series that consists of free science
exploration and education programs aimed at
families and learners of all ages. These drop-in
programs are generally from 10:00 a.m. - Noon on
the 1st Saturday of the month, held at Town Center
of the Wisconsin Institutes for Discovery on the UW
Madison Campus.

Open Play or "Open Gym"
Nearly a dozen places in & around Madison offer
their facilities for 1-2 hours, or even all day for
regular "open gym"  times throughout the week.
Admission charges vary by venue, often dependent
on age, from $4 to $8 and provide equipment to
play, slide, jump; but most importantly a kid-
friendly, safe environment for activity and social
interaction (for mom or dad, too!) Click above for

Library Activities
Be sure to check out the many wonderful, free, kid-
friendly events throughout the season at your local
library. Activities often include recurring story
times, plus other scheduled crafts, movies &
special events. Nearly every library offers
something unique in the designated children's
area, so just hanging out looking at books or
discovering something new can be a fun, yet
peaceful way to spend a cold day!

Meriter/Physicians Plus
Halloween Candy Trade-In
9:30am - 11:30am
@ Meriter - West Washington Clinic
Kids can trade-in their extra Halloween candy for a
fun, healthy treat – as well as drawing entries for great
prizes! The more candy you bring in – the more entries
you receive! All candy will be sent to U.S. Troops
through Operation Gratitude.

Madison Ballet returns to the Rotunda Stage for an
“off-stage and personal” look at what it’s really like to

Warner Family Fun Nights

@ Warner Park Community Rec Ctr
Warner Family Fun Nights are held once a month,
most months throughout the year from 5:30-8:30 pm
at the Warner Park Community Recreation Center.
Tickets are just $5 per family and may be purchased
the evening of the event, at the door. Please bring your
athletic shoes!

Girls on the Run 5K

5K Run is open to GOTR participants, parents and

Zoozort will be at KIR, allowing kids to get up close
and personal with some new friends at this unique,
hands-on interactive program featuring live exotic
animals from all around the world!
Fantasy in Lights opens!!
Dusk to Dawn

Nov 14th through Jan 3rd
Madison’s favorite holiday light display features a
festive path of illuminated holiday structures – makes
for a memorable car ride with the kids after dusk.
Don't forget your free candy cane on the way out.

Holiday Lights & Hayrides

Tour the Holiday Fantasy in Lights display from a
tractor pulled wagon ride. This special hayride event is
offered Nov 14th & 15th, bring extra blankets, park in
the Turville Woods lot, $2 per person, donations also
accepted to fund the lights display.

Enchantment Theatre Company brings Peter Rabbit,
Benjamin Bunny and the rest to life with fantastic
masks, whimsical puppets, gorgeous scenery and
original music. Celebrate the 150th anniversary of the
birth of Beatrix Potter with her most beloved creations!
Families on the Frontier

Celebrate fall and the harvest season by going back in
time to a world much different than today! We’ll visit
the Children’s Shack to do pioneer chores and play
games, churn butter, sing songs, and learn about
living off the land in the spirit of Aldo Leopold.
