Free hands-on workshops designed for children ages 5-
12 offered the 1st Saturday of every month at all Home
Depot stores between 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Workshops
teach children Do-It-Yourself skills, tool safety, and instill
a sense of pride and accomplishment.
SpringFest Arts & Crafts Fair

Recreation Center
Over 80 crafters from the midwest will be selling their
handmade goods. Admission is $1 and there will be
door prizes, music in the lobby from 10 AM to 2 PM, and
food & beverages available for purchase.

The star of the TV series on Nick Jr is hitting the road for
the first-ever U.S. Theatrical tour, Peppa Pig's Big

strange cast of misfit creatures and learns to celebrate
differences.

Crazy Legs Classic

The Crazylegs Classic has become a time-honored
tradition of the University of Wisconsin, as well as a
much anticipated event to kick off spring in the Madison
area. The event, which benefits UW Athletics, includes a
8K run & 2 mile walk. Children only need to register if
they want a t-shirt.
Healthy Kids Day
11 AM to 1 PM
@ YMCA locations
The Y will be offering a free community event with fun
games, and positive, educational activities to teach kids
& families about healthy habits. Kids can fill out a
passport and submit it for a chance to win great YMCA
prizes.

Library Activities
  • THROUGHOUT WEEK | YEAR-ROUND
    Be sure to check out the many wonderful, free,
    kid-friendly events throughout the season at
    your local library. Activities often include
    recurring story times, plus other scheduled
    crafts, movies & special events. Nearly every
    library offers something unique in the
    designated children's area, so just hanging out
    looking at books or discovering something new
    can be a fun, yet peaceful way to spend a cold

Open Play or "Open Gym"
  • DAILY OPTIONS | YEAR-ROUND
    Nearly a dozen places in & around Madison offer
    their facilities for 1-2 hours, or even all day for
    regular "open gym"  times throughout the week.
    Admission charges vary by venue, often
    dependent on age, from $4 to $8 and provide
    equipment to play, slide, jump; but most
    importantly a kid-friendly, safe environment for
    activity and social interaction (for mom or dad,
