American Family DreamBank
 
WEEKLY | YEAR-ROUND
DreamBank is a one-of-a-kind dream exploration space on the
square in Downtown Madison. The DreamBank experience
includes interactive technology, thought-provoking exhibits, and
inspiring events, all of which are free and open to the general
public. Come by for Family Saturdays each week to see what
activities will educate & inspire your kids!
 
Art Cart Program
 
THROUGHOUT WEEK | ALL SUMMER
A program of Madison Museum of Contemporary Art, the Art Carts
are a free outdoor art program that brings expert instruction and a
relaxed attitude to art projects at parks, playgrounds and beaches
in Madison and Dane Co communities in the summer. Both
programs offer a variety of individual and group art projects for
children ages 3 & up.
 
     
Rocky Rococo Family Movies
 
THROUGHOUT WEEK | YEAR-ROUND
Rocky's Party Pizzeria's East & West show movies on their big
screen throughout the week, daytimes/eve's/wknds (see
location for times.) Movies are rated 'G' or 'PG', it's a fun way to
get out of the house and enjoy lunch or dinner with a
kid-friendly movie in a family-friendly atmosphere.
 
Bruce Company Junior Gardener Workshop
Saturday Science at Discovery
 
MONTHLY | SPRING THROUGH FALL
Every month kids 3 to 10 years old meet with a trained employee
for 20-30 minutes of fun designed to get their hands dirty! They’ll
learn about soil, seeds, plants, and the helpful critters that
populate a garden. $5 per child.
MONTHLY | YEAR-ROUND
A monthly series that consists of free science exploration and
education programs aimed at families and learners of all ages.
These drop-in programs are generally from 10 AM - Noon on
the 1st Saturday of the month, held at Town Center of the
Wisconsin Institutes for Discovery.
 
Home Depot Kids Workshop
Saturday Science at UW Space Place
 
MONTHLY | YEAR-ROUND
Drop-in (registration preferred) 9 AM to Noon the 1st Saturday
every month for a FREE how-to clinic for kids (recommended
ages 5 to 12).Real woodworking projects are often themed
around seasons & holidays. The workshops are intended to
encourage one-on-one time with adults and children, teach tool
safety, and give children the sense of accomplishment. They'll be
proud of their kid-sized "official" orange apron and achievement
pin they take home with their project
WEEKLY | YEAR-ROUND
Space Place family workshops are offered every Saturday at
10 AM, for children ages 6-10 and their parents. The workshops
are free and open to the public. No registration is required for
any of the workshops but attendance is LIMITED to the first 50
people.

Marcus Theatres offers a line-up of G-rated & PG-rated movies for
kids at a special admission of just $3/person every Sunday,
Monday & Wednesday, June 11th thru August 16th. Show times
are at 10 AM at Palace & Point Cinemas. Get FREE passes from

WEEKLY | VARIES BY VENUE
Story time is a free activity and great opportunity to socialize
kids (and parents too!) Find recurring story times and special
activities at public libraries, bookstores & even a pet store! Click

Lakeside Kids at Monona Terrace
Summer Camps
 
SELECT WEDNESDAYS | JUNE 21 - AUG 2 *
A summer program coordinated in partnership with various
community organizations. Lakeside Kids provides free activities or
entertainment on Wednesday mornings during mid-summer for
kids ages 4 & up. *See website for 2017 schedule.
PARTIAL DAY | WEEKLY THROUGHOUT SUMMER
Look through our list of popular summer camp options,
providing links to programs that offer partial day programs on
one or more day each week throughout the summer.
 
Michaels Kids Club
UW Arboretum Family Programs
 
SATURDAYS [MOSTLY WEEKLY, YEAR-ROUND]
Between 10 AM - Noon most Saturdays, kids 3 and up can enjoy
a quick project and take home a finished masterpiece. Sign up in
store or online, or just drop in. $2 per project, supplies included.
Parent or guardian must remain on premises during the event.
MONTHLY | YEAR-ROUND
On the fourth Sunday of most months, we offer a kid-friendly
program that uses nature hikes, stories, crafts and activities to
explore animals, plants and natural phenomena. On the
second Sunday of every month, we offer a family walk with
topics that are especially appealing to youngsters.

just want to spend quality time with your family, use this handy

THROUGHOUT WEEK | YEAR-ROUND
Nearly a dozen places in & around Madison open their facilities
for one to two hours, or open all day for "open gym" sessions,
which may include equipment to play, jump, slide, practice or
gymnastics & tumbling.  Admission fees vary by venue, ranging
from $5 to $10/child+, often depending on age or membership
discounts. (A couple of venues only offer Open Gym during the
school year, indicated on our schedule on this website.)
